Sightseeing - Man Mo Temple
One of Hong Kong's oldest temples, the Man Mo Temple is dedicated to two deities, the 'civil' God of Literature (Man) and the 'military' God of War (Mo). The temple, built in the mid-19th century, has watched the city change throughout the ages, while it has remained a peaceful oasis in the middle of the antique shops and art galleries of Hollywood Road. Giant incense coils hanging overhead blanket the interior. Across the street is the Cat Street Bazaar, chock full of Asian treasures and souvenir bargains. The temple is located on the corner of Hollywood Road and Ladder Street, Central. Open: 8am to 6pm. Admission: free.
MTR: Sheung Wan, exit A2. Walk along Queen's Road Central to Upper Lascar Row, also known as Ladder Street.
